8th Grade Parents...The final payment for the Washington, D.C. trip scheduled for March 19th is due. We are thrilled to be taking 3 buses this year; that is more students than we have ever taken to D.C.! If you would like to help sponsor a student to make this memorable trip, please contact Ms. Thompson.
The flu season has hit our school. Teachers, students, and parents are feeling the impact of keeping up with school work while home. Here are some guidelines for parents concerning requests for make-up work. On or after the second consecutive day a student is absent, a parent may request make-up work by calling the school office and giving teachers 24 hour notice to have it ready for pick-up in the front office. Office staff will request a phone number and/or email address from the parent to pass along to the teacher when emailing teachers the request. Teacher's may communicate with parents via email or phone calls within the 24 hours if there is not anything that must be physically passed on...handouts, etc. We encourage parents to use the homework hotline and team website to keep up with homework while out. 24 hour notice is defined as any request made by 3:00 PM, work will be ready for pick-up by 3:00 PM the following day. Make-up work is stressful for everyone..students, parents, and teachers, the goal is to help kids to not fall far behind or be overwhelmed when they return to school.
Student Behavior is being monitored by teachers and administrators using the PRO Plan. For more information, click on the link.
Parents have you taken good photos of school events? Would you like to see them published in the yearbook? Mrs. Broady and the Yearbook Staff need all the photos they can get to fill the pages. If you can help, email (5 or fewer) photos to kristi.broady@fayette.kyschools.us or drop off a photo disk in the front office labeled "For Yearbook/Mrs. Broady" Thanks very much.
