"I DO" Summer Youth Programs

Being a parent of a school-age child is no easy job. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) would like to offer some help.

Twice a month, KDE sends out an issue of ParentInfo, an e-mail newsletter with timely tips and ideas on how parents can help children succeed in school.

Topics include college and career readiness, testing, school-based decision making councils, bullying, technology and more.ParentInfo also includes links to helpful resources on the Web.

HIGH SCHOOL MATHEMATICS PLACEMENT TUTORING

Mr. Durham will be offering free tutoring this summer on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons beginning May 30 and going through August 1, for students interested in taking the Algebra or Geometry re-test in August.  Please email for more information.  brian.durham@fayette.kyschools.us

Tryouts for LTMS Volleyball will be held Wed., July 31st , 4:00-6:00 PM in the gym. All players MUST have a completed KHSSA sports physical on the first day of tryouts. On Mon.,- Tues., July 29th- 30th a tryout camp to prepare students  for tryouts will be held in the LTMS gym. Georgetown College coaches and players will run the camp and tailor what is taught to the level of students who want to try out for the LTMS team. The cost for the tryout camp is $45 or possibly less, depending on the number of students who attend. Summer Reading Lists are here. Don't forget to complete this reading during the summer break. LTMS students who participate in Lexington Public Library's summer reading program can earn double credit if the book they are reading is on a required reading list. More information from the public library will be available in the LTMS library soon. 6th Grade List; 7th Grade List; 8th Grade List.
