Cost: ALL players MUST have a sports physical completed before they will be allowed to tryout. Those forms may be picked up at our front office or downloaded from the FCPS website.

Time requirements: daily practices from 4-6 p.m. any day there is not a game, games on Monday and Wednesday evening

Academic requirements: must maintain 2.0 GPA and satisfactory behavior on weekly grade checks.

2012-2013 Try-out Information

Any girl interested in trying out for volleyball for 2012-2013 school year should plan on attending:

LTMS Tryout Camp

When: Mon. /Tues.  July 30-31th

Time: 4-5:30

Where: LTMS Gym

Details: Basic skill instruction will be provided for any girl wishing to tryout.

 

LTMS TRYOUTS

When: Wed,. August 1 – Fri., August 3rd

Time: 4-5:30

Where: LTMS Gym

Details: Review of basic skills with additional instruction on hitting, blocking, and rules of volleyball.

Once team is selected, practices are daily 4-6 pm.

All girls must have a current KHSAA sports physical on file prior to tryouts.

2011-2012 Season Recap

The Girls Volleyball had a very successful season with both the A and B team reaching the Final Four tournaments and finishing 4th place in the district. The 3 teams totaling 27 members  also competed in 6 tournaments including play at Beaumont Middle School, Dunbar High and KBA. The B team placed 2nd in the 2-day tournament winning 10 games against area teams. The A team also defeated Edith J. Hayes, the district winners, for the first time in several seasons, in a close match at home during the early part of the season.

The Volleyball Team also participated in our Community Service Project by helping host the William Wells Elementary Fall Festival. The girls helped worked the various booths of games and activities for the elementary aged students.
