World Fit
Lexington Traditional Magnet School is excited to announce our schools’ participation in an Olympian-created fitness program called World Fit. It is designed to get our children outdoors once again and moving – like we did at their age. th overall in the nation last year. It is the incredible success of the Walk to date that we decided to have our students involved in this fitness challenge.
World Fit is a simple program that begins on April 9, 2012, the day we return after Spring Break. Your child will walk on school grounds approximately 25 minutes a day, for six weeks ending on May 18, 2012. S/he can also log in other fitness type activities in addition to their walking mileage in order to increase their mileage. S/he will have the opportunity to earn World Fit certificates and awards by accumulating miles during the program.
This six week Walk is well established in Middle Schools nationwide, as LTMS finished 4
The health and fitness of LTMS students need attention both during and after school and we feel that World Fit is an excellent way to show our students how walking can be beneficial and fun. Our students’ families can be involved. You can log "buddy miles" and donate half of them to your child. I hope each family will embrace World Fit at home as we are embracing it at LTMS.
As always, the Faculty and Staff at LTMS appreciates the families of our students and we look forward to your interest and support for World fit at our school. If you have any questions, please contact Barb Spitz or Danita Johnson at 859-381-3192.
